DIY Guest Book

Hi there! Today I will be showing you how to make your own guest sign in book for upcoming celebrations! These are perfect for graduation parties, 1st birthdays and weddings.

You will need the following supplies:
- the Cinch Binding Machine
- 1 qty. Binding Coil for Cinch
- Wire cutters
- Scissors
- Paper trimmer
- Double stick tape
- 2 qty. 7"x10" printed scrapbook paper for covers
- 2 qty. 5"x8" printed paper for inside covers
- 1 qty. 8.5"x11" extra heavy chipboard
- 8.5"x5.5" lined paper for inside pages
- decorations for cover

First, cut your 8.5x11" extra heavy chipboard in half so you have 2 qty. 8.5"x5.5" pieces.  Next, place one of your cover papers printed side down on your table.  Center one of the pieces of chipboard onto the cover paper.  Tape it down with the double sided tape once it is centered.  After the chipboard is taped down, cut off the corners of the cover paper.

Fold over the tabs you just created and tape them down onto the chipboard using the double sided tape.

Repeat with the other cover.

Flip the covers over so you can see the chipboard.  Tape down the 5"x8" printed paper to cover the chipboard.

Now you have the front and back cover of your book! Use the Cinch machine to punch the holes in your covers and the lined paper.  Do each cover separately since they are think.  Make sure when you punch the back cover you flip it over so that the side you covered the chipboard with the 5x8 paper is facing up. Also make sure you line up your edges the same place before you punch the holes.  Once the holes are punched in your covers and the lined paper you can assemble your book.  Cut the binding coil to the appropriate length and follow the instructions on the Cinch machine to attach and crimp.

Once your book is bound you can decorate the front cover!  You can personalize with a photo or message or keep it simple with "Guest Book."  I added some bling as well to make it pop.  Have fun with it!

I hope you liked this project and have fun making sign in books! Until next time, happy crafting!
