Is it snowing?

Here's a cute "snowman" pin idea. Thanks Penny, and thanks to Hui o Kilauea for having us from the Market City Store, the other week for make 'n take. We had lots of fun.

You need a 2" styrofoam ball, a 1" strip of black cardstock to make the hat, yellow and blue circle uchida punch to make the brim of the hat, 1" chenille stem (for the nose), moving eyes, and small black pom poms for the mouth. All that will a little bit of glue (fabric tac or hot glue will do) and a pin back.

1st you'll need to cut the styrofoam ball in half. This will be his head. Then we'll make the hat. You'll first need to use the blue circle uchida punch (keep this circle - cut in half to make the top of the hat), then to make the brim, you'll need to punch the yellow circle punch over the blue circle you punched on the cardstock. and it should make a "dounut" shape. This will be cut in half for the brim.

1" x 5 and 3/8" strip of black cardstock for the hat. Score at each end 1 and 1/2 ". Overlap each 1 and 1/2" edge and glue together. Glue the 1/2 circle to make the top of the hat. Glue this to the back of the snowman's head. Then glue the brim to his hat on.

Glue on the eyes. Bend the 1" chenille stem (preferably orange) for his nose. Add the pieces "of coal" or pom poms to his face for his mouth.

Then add the pin back on the backside of the styrofoam ball.
