Ready? 10...9...8...7...

Whew! Two more days and counting til Christmas and I JUST finished my shopping. You know what that means? Yes, it means it's time to start wrapping presents, but it also means that New Year's Eve is only 9 days away! Guess who's got great New Year's ideas? Ben Franklin Crafts!

First, I've got an easy DIY New Year's popper. It's made using scrap pieces of paper, some star confetti, gold mirror paper, gold glitter tape, and a push-up favor. I accordion folded the gold mirror paper to have something fly out of the popper when the count down reaches zero.

Next, I made a festive and fun party hat to wear on that special night. Use Thickers stick-on letters to spell out your message, and hot-glue to attach feathers, rhinestones, and other fun embellishments.

Stop by our stores for more ideas to make your New Year's celebrations even more enjoyable and exciting.

Decorative Hearts made with punches

What a great and easy way to decorate using punches to make hearts. The hearts can used to make a garland, decorate a frame, and so much more.

Supplies:
Cardstock
Stapler
Ribbon
Punches
The punches used in pictures:
Martha Stewart Punches
30117621 - Double Edge Link Trim
30117622 - Edge Footlights
30115340 -  Deep Edge Blossom Eyelet

Cut 1" strips in various lengths. Punch the strips. Fold the strips in half and then fold in the ends to make a heart shape and staple the inside of the heart. If using more than one strip or adding ribbon make sure to staple all together. Makes it easier to only use one staple.

If making into garland use ribbon or baker's twine to string with the hearts.

Such a cute and easy way to decorate during Valentine's Day.

For those on your Naughty-cal List

We're going to take some time off from talking about Christmas decor today to talk about Christmas gifts. I know, it's not really a big leap, but gift giving IS an important part of the holidays, right? And on that note:

Check out these hand-made, cute, sea-loving totes! These chevron patterned, canvas totes are sold in gray and red, and all I had to do to make them gift-worthy is decorate them with some nautical flair.

One the first bag I painted a sand dollar using turquoise Ceramcoat acrylic paint. You can free hand your design like I did or use a stencil.

On the second bag I simply hot-glued some rope in an anchor shape. I would suggest using Fabri-tac to attach the rope if you're planning on washing the bag.

One little word of warning about these bags: they have a plastic lined interior which makes them great for taking to the beach, but unfortunately also makes them unable to stand up to heat. So that means no iron-on patches or transfer paper for these guys. Just stick to your normal paints and fabric glues to keep them, and your recipients, happy.

Now, who's ready for some nautical gift giving?

Puna @ Enchanted Lake

Kahului Elves

Aloha Crafters,

Todays Idea and Inspiration come to you from the hard working elves from Kahului BFC.

As a team our night crew decided to wear pajama pants and design our own festive t-shirts with glitter glue, pom poms and felt!

Here are a few of my favorites,

And last but not least, our confused elf, who thinks she's a reindeer.

I hope you enjoyed our festive t-shirts, we had lots of fun during this busy black friday with our outfits!
