Local Artist Tommy Nahulu

Aloha Crafters ~

Today's Idea & Inspiration is local artist Tommy Nahulu. Tommy goes into the schools and teaches children about art. Instructing the children in the use of the color wheel to find primary colors and how they can be used to make other colors; he gives them a theme and each child produces a work of art. He designs a giant mural using each child's piece, incorporating his own art in it for their school - where it is permanently mounted.
Ben Franklin Crafts along with Colart had the priviledge of donating the paint for Tommy's latest project at King Kamehameha II Elementary School, located in Lahaina.

This unique and memorable piece was unveiled May 17th. Following are the pictures from that day, please enjoy.

Happy Crafting!
