Halloween Unbreakable Ornament

Halloween Ornament

Creepy, Crawly and Creative is what your going to say when your child makes this bat ornament. 

Supplies:

30143772 – Clear unbreakable ornament

77613620 – Black Foam Sheet

30055159 – Moving Eyes

30131084 – Stickles

30121824 – Glitter it

30141797 – Vintage Sparkle

Cut the shape of bat wings with the black foam sheet. Make any design with the Stickles on the foam sheet. Pour a small amount of glitter it in the unbreakable ornament and swirl it around. Make sure to get all of the ornament coated. Pour any remaining liquid back into the Glitter It bottle. Add a good amount of glitter to the inside of the ornament. Give it a good shake to make sure the glitter has coated the inside. Glue the eyes and bat wings. A hat or add some pom poms to make bat ears will finish the ornament.

Keiki Class Monster Ball!

We are having our Fall Keiki Classes here at the Market City Store!! Check out these AWESOME Fuzzy Monster Balls the Keiki did today! 

Supplies:
Eyelash Yarn
Googly Eyes
Yellow Felt
Black Felt
Orange Foamie Sheet
Fabri-Tac Glue
Black Pipe Cleaners




Use the Styrofoam Ball as the inside of your monster, begin by using the Fabri-Tac Glue and spreading a good amount on the ball and wrap the eyelash yarn around the Styrofoam Ball until the entire thing is covered (You may need to use more glue as you go.).

For the Owl, cut his ears out of the black felt and glue on using the Fabri-Tac. Cut the eyes and beak out of the yellow felt and glue on. Next cut the feet out of orange Foamie and glue on using the Fabri-Tac. All that is left is his great big googly eyes! Glue them on as well and you now have an ADORABLE Monster Owl!!!

For the spider, cut pipe cleaners into about 5" lengths and just poke them into the ball, add the eyes and TADAH!!! Spoooooky Spider Puff.......

Edward Cullen's Ashes ~ Quick & Easy

Today's Idea & Inspiration is a quick & easy craft - Edward Cullen's Ashes. One of our glass canisters was filled with silver, a label was printed, adhered and EUREKA - quick Halloween decor. Of course, you may pick the vampire(s) and glitter color of your choice.

Haunted House Decoration

Here’s a great way to turn a wood birdhouse into a great haunted house centerpiece. These can hangers-on to great table decorations. 

  

Supplies:

Acrylic paint

Decoart Decoupage Gloss

Wood Birdhouse

Scrap paper – The Authentique Thriller paper is great to use

Double-sided tape

Pop Dots

Halloween ornaments/accessories

Shape punches

Tim Holtz's Distress Stain

Paint the birdhouse black. Let it dry. While it is drying, I looked through the Authentique Thriller paper to decoupage the house or using the scrap paper picked out to decorated the birdhouse. To give the paper a distressed appearance I ripped the paper and used the Tim Holtz’s stain. To finish it off I added a spider web and used grey acrylic paint on the roof.

Witches Hat

Halloween is just around the corner and if you plan on making your decorations, then you'd better start early! This Witches hat could be used as a decoration by itself on a table, mantle, lanai or in a wreath even! It is so simple to make... All you do is:

1 paper mache cone
1 sheet of chipboard or mat board (Any stiff cardboard like material)
3 different Halloween colored ribbons
Fabri-Tac
Black acrylic paint

Cut the chipboard (or stiff cardboard) in a circle about 2" wider than the base of the cone, this will be the brim of the hat. Glue the brim to the base of the hat, now we have our hat shape! Paint the whole thing with black acrylic paint, you can add glitter or any color you would like also. Wrap different ribbons around the base and use one for a bow. Adhere with Fabri-Tac and you are DONE!! Wasn't that easy and awesome?!

Cha Cha in the Pumpkin Patch

Here's another Halloween themed project that we will demo at our Mapunapuna Bead Shop.  Cha Cha bracelets have lots of charms dangling from the bracelet base and tend to be full with a lot of movement so I thought it would be fun to have little ghosts and witches dancing together in the pumpkin patch using some of our resin flowers from our bead soup, Swarovski pearls, orange gemstone, and plastic donuts.  Stop by our Mapunapuna bead shop to see the sample or for our demo which will be on Sunday October 14 at 2:00 PM.

WITCHY WITCH MAGNET BOARD

I absolutely love the magnet boards that are featured on Crankin' Out Crafts in our store now,  they are so fun and easy to create. So, since Halloween is (believe it or not) right around the corner, and happens to be my favorite holiday...I was inspired to created this Witchy Witch magnet board that I just love.  

To create the witch hat shape, I simply took a 12x12 sheet of black card stock and laid two pieces of orange card stock (8.5x11 or 12x12 will do) as seen in the picture above.  I secured the paper with double sided tape, trimmed the edges with scissors and a paper cutter. Next, I used double sided tape to secure the hat image to a 12x12 metal sheet.  

Using Foamies Sheets, I cut two 3" wide strips out of a green sheet, and 8, 3'' by 1'' strips and shoes from a black sheet.

I assembled all the pieces of my magnet board with double sided tape and added ribbon and bows to give an adorability to our witch. I made magnets using plastic spiders, glass tiles and halloween paper designs. You can punch two holes in the top and use  ribbon to hang your magnet board in your home or classroom. This is a great craft the whole family can do and enjoy together!
