Tabletop Christmas Tree

Aloha Crafters ~

Today's Idea & Inspiration is a Tabletop Christmas Tree made using Lucky 8 punches.

Supplies:
  • Circle Lucky 8 Punches of choice
  • 12 12x12 Scrapbook Paper of choice
  • Bone Folder
  • Scoring Board
  • Awl
  • Drill
  • Wood Block
  • Dowel
  • Sand (approx. 1 cup)
  • 3" Burlap Ribbon
  • Floral Tape
  • Drinking Straw
  • Plastic Bag
  • Twist Tie(s) or wire
  • Mini Tree Topper
Instructions:

For Tree Construction:
  1. Cut 2 each - 11x11,10x10, 9x9, 8x8, 7x7
  2. Using Lucky 8 punches, punch all 12 papers
  3. Using Awl, pierce hole in middle of each paper (find the middle by folding in quarters)
  4. Using Scoring Board, score each paper from middle of paper to middle of each curve
  5. Flip paper and score from middle of paper to where each curve meets the next curve
  6. Fold along score lines
For Base Assembly:
  1. Drill hole in center of Wood Block
  2. Cover Dowel in Floral Tape
  3. Push Dowel into hole in Wood Block
  4. Cut 2 12" pieces of 3" Burlap Ribbon
  5. Place Wood Block in Plastic Bag, fill with Sand
  6. Tie with Twist tie
  7. Mold into ball
  8. Make an X with the Burlap Ribbon, place sand bag with block on center of both ribbons
  9. Cover bag/block with Ribbon, secure with wire/twist tie
For Tree Assembly:
  1. Cut straw in 3/4" pieces
  2. Thread largest rosette onto dowel
  3. Thread straw piece onto dowel, cover straw piece with floral tape
  4. Continue threading rosettes and straw pieces
  5. Top with Mni Tree Topper
