3D-Hot Air Balloons

Hot Air Balloon Craft Projects are oh-so-cute. Whether you want to add whimsical details to a party or you want to make a gift for a baby, THIS hot air balloon DIY is a great way to start. This is an adorable hot air balloon crafts. Adding clouds or a rainbow and string them up on your window or maybe into a mobile would be cute.

Supplies:

30028735 – 2”in Marvy Uchida Punch Heart (Blue Punch)

30123978 – Martha Stewart Craft Glue

30104701 – Fold N Score Tool

Cardstock

Baker’s Twine or string

I cut 5 – 5” circles with the various colors. Punch 4 hearts and then score the circles and hearts in the center. Match the sides up and glue. While gluing add the string in the center of the circles and hearts. You can add some clouds too.

Molds and UV Resin

Create cute and fun pins or pendants using Martha Stewart Molds, Glitter and UV Resin!

Supplies:
UV Resin
UV Light
Martha Stewart Molds
Fine Glitter
Pin Backs or Bails
E6000 Glue

Begin by pouring a thin layer of resin into the mold, place under the UV light for a few minutes and then do another thin layer but this time add the glitter! But under the UV light for a few more minutes and complete by giving it one more layer of resin. After you have let it sit under the UV light, pop it out of the mold. Sometimes when it pops out of the mold, the front looks a little foggy. If this happens, don't fear! Just use a brush and brush on a THIN layer of resin on the foggy area and it will shine right up! Add your pin back or bail (to make a pendant) using E6000 glue.

It's a Clay Thing!

I've always wanted to work with clay but have always had a vision of whatever I made falling apart. Just remembering what all those clay figures that were made during those elementary school years gives me the shivers! And, that pottery class in high school went the same way. Still, after being inspired with what Penny (from our Mapunapuna store) makes; I've been thinking of giving clay another try. These Martha Stewart Silcone Molds (the stores just got these in) may be the way to go before I try free-styling again. The directions say to just press the clay into the molds, release, air dry & embellish! Sounds simple enough?! I think I'll try it with our air dry Hearty Clay and either the Sculpey or Fimo Clay too! I'll let you know how it turns out!
This week's crafting features a Sizzix Swing Card tomorrow, September 20 & on Saturday, September 22 our Adventures will feature the Tree of Life Pendant in the morning & you can make a Burlap Ribbon Rose in the afternoon! The Burlap Rose is perfect for your Fall wreaths & the Tree of Life Pendant would be a nice gift for a friend!

Tabletop Christmas Tree

Aloha Crafters ~

Today's Idea & Inspiration is a Tabletop Christmas Tree made using Lucky 8 punches.

Supplies:

• Circle Lucky 8 Punches of choice
• 12 12x12 Scrapbook Paper of choice
• Bone Folder
• Scoring Board
• Awl
• Drill
• Wood Block
• Dowel
• Sand (approx. 1 cup)
• 3" Burlap Ribbon
• Floral Tape
• Drinking Straw
• Plastic Bag
• Twist Tie(s) or wire
• Mini Tree Topper

Instructions:

For Tree Construction:

1. Cut 2 each - 11x11,10x10, 9x9, 8x8, 7x7
2. Using Lucky 8 punches, punch all 12 papers
3. Using Awl, pierce hole in middle of each paper (find the middle by folding in quarters)
4. Using Scoring Board, score each paper from middle of paper to middle of each curve
5. Flip paper and score from middle of paper to where each curve meets the next curve
6. Fold along score lines

For Base Assembly:

1. Drill hole in center of Wood Block
2. Cover Dowel in Floral Tape
3. Push Dowel into hole in Wood Block
4. Cut 2 12" pieces of 3" Burlap Ribbon
5. Place Wood Block in Plastic Bag, fill with Sand
6. Tie with Twist tie
7. Mold into ball
8. Make an X with the Burlap Ribbon, place sand bag with block on center of both ribbons
9. Cover bag/block with Ribbon, secure with wire/twist tie

For Tree Assembly:

1. Cut straw in 3/4" pieces
2. Thread largest rosette onto dowel
3. Thread straw piece onto dowel, cover straw piece with floral tape
4. Continue threading rosettes and straw pieces
5. Top with Mni Tree Topper

Today's Idea & Inspiration is a mobile for Baby. Using the Eclips machine with the Baby Shower & Precious cartridge made this project fast and easy.

Supplies:

• ECLIPS MACHINE (30120535)
• CARTRIDGE-BABY SHOWER PRECIOUS (30120558)
• ELASTICITY 0.8MM CLEAR 5M (30061094)
• MSC PUNCH-PATP SET SPIRAL ARCHS (30123993)
• PUNCH-LUCKY 8 TATTED DOILY (30130921)
• MSC SCORING BOARD MSC (30103578)
• Coordinating 12X12 Paper SNIPS & SNAILS by doodlebug design inc.
• Coordinating 12X12 Paper SUGAR & SPICE by doodlebug design inc.
• Green 12X12 Cardstock (30056321)
• Adhesive of choice
• Poster Board to match paper or white
• 1/16" Circle Paper hole punch (77178533)

Instructions:
Cut poster board to rectangle shape - length & height as preferred
Using ECLIPS MACHINE with Baby Shower & Precious cartridge loaded, cut out baby's name or phrase of choice and desired shapes using coordinating papers, (length & height to fit cut poster board).
Punch 4 evenly spaced holes on each side of poster board
Punch holes in tops & bottoms of 4 large cut shapes, punch holes in tops of smaller cut shapes
Using Elasticity secure (knot or glue or both) shapes to each other & poster board as desired (refer to picture)

Thread Elasticity through holes on top of poster board in equal lengths of 2 feet (will be used to connect to top medallion)

To make medallion please refer to our blog of June 29th
Cover poster board with coordinating papers, front & back
Adhere letters of baby name or phrase to front of posterboard, outline if desired
Adhere shapes on inside of posterboard

Adhere ends of posterboard together with adhesive of choice
Pierce hole through center of medallion, string the 4 pieces Elasticity from the top of the posterboard through hole
Make loop and knot. Hang.

Supplies:

2 Pieces of the same scrapbooking paper

Coordinating paper

Martha Stewart Scoreboard

Double-stick tape

Hot glue gun

Glue sticks

3.5” Scalloped circle punch

The scoreboard is not necessary to make these accordion circles, but it sure does make it easier and faster. Also, pennants like this can easily be made in a few different sizes and patterns and hung grouped together for maximum impact.

Crankin' Out Crafts Party!

Here are two more projects that will be featured this Saturday, April 28th, at our Crankin' Out Crafts Party.

First, a punch card showcasing the awesome Martha Stewart all over the the page punches. These cards are so fast and simple, but they look so elegant that people will think they took a lot of effort.



Next is the One Straw Lei. This is such a fun and quick lei that we're sure you'll pick it up really fast and want to make a ton of them!

So, don't forget, the party starts at 10am and runs til 2pm at our Enchanted Lake store. We'll have 4 tables of fun make n' takes and demonstrations and even some fantastic prize giveaways.

Last Minute Christmas Cards

I don't mean to scare anyone, but did you know that there are only 33 more days til Christmas? For the sake of all those procrastinators out there, like me, here are 3 cute and quick Christmas cards that you can make before anyone says "Holly Jolly Christmas".

Find some brown paper bag card stock or craft card stock to punch this awesomely handsome reindeer out of. The punch is from EK Success and the Christmas ribbon is from American Crafts.

Line the bottom inside of this card with red paper then punch these amazing snowflakes out of the front of the card. This is the scalloped snowflake punch from Martha Stewart's punch all over the page collection. I popped "wishing you joy" out on this one but you don't have to, you could just print it straight to the card.

A few rhinestones in the center of the snowflakes could really jazz this simple card up. I like the clean lines and that supremely cool snowflake border made with the Martha Stewart double-edge punch.

I printed all the sentiments for these cards out on our printer, but if your computer is uncooperative you can use stickers or stamps with the same effect.

I hope this helps; these cards should be great for those mass Christmas mailings.

Time to Punch Out (a card)

The new Martha Stewart punch all over the page and edge punches are here!

We are especially excited about the punch all over the page punches because they have nifty little magnets on their bases which enable you to... 

 punch all over the page! You could even punch a design out of the absolute center of your paper (if you can find the absolute center that is). Anyway, Martha has got a ton of new designs made just for Christmas and, with a little bit of layering, they can really add a whole new dimension to your scrapbook pages or cards.

In fact, I made a quick card of my own just to give you an idea. It's not a Christmas card but it does use the Martha Stewart "Christmas Star" punch. What do you think?
