For those on your Naughty-cal List

We're going to take some time off from talking about Christmas decor today to talk about Christmas gifts. I know, it's not really a big leap, but gift giving IS an important part of the holidays, right? And on that note:

Check out these hand-made, cute, sea-loving totes! These chevron patterned, canvas totes are sold in gray and red, and all I had to do to make them gift-worthy is decorate them with some nautical flair.

One the first bag I painted a sand dollar using turquoise Ceramcoat acrylic paint. You can free hand your design like I did or use a stencil.

On the second bag I simply hot-glued some rope in an anchor shape. I would suggest using Fabri-tac to attach the rope if you're planning on washing the bag.

One little word of warning about these bags: they have a plastic lined interior which makes them great for taking to the beach, but unfortunately also makes them unable to stand up to heat. So that means no iron-on patches or transfer paper for these guys. Just stick to your normal paints and fabric glues to keep them, and your recipients, happy.

Holiday Keiki Crafts

I had so much fun making holiday crafts with felt, googly eyes, and so much more. Christmas tree, holiday penguin, gingerbread man, and Christmas stocking is some of the ways to use felt. Some other ideas were reindeer, snowflake, and Santa Claus. Those are definitely on my list to add to the other felt crafts. It's also a great way to make items for the Christmas tree.

Some of the craft items I used included:
Felt
Googly eyes
Stickles
Baker's twine
Pom Poms
Ribbon
Poly-fil
Fabric-tac to glue all the pieces together

Let's get creative with eyelash yarn

What do you think of when you see eyelash yarn? Lei's, crocheting, or knitting? Well here's a new, fun, and easy way to use this yarn and the keiki's will love it too. 

Supplies needed:
Eyelash yarn
Styrofoam ball
Fabric-tac
Optional items:
Felt
Googly eyes
Chenille
Ribbon
Glue gun
Cheesecloth


Glue the start of the eyelash yarn and start wrapping around the styrofoam ball. When the styrofoam ball is completely covered cut and glue the end of the yarn. Then it's time to make your character. Be creative and use many of the supplies listed above.

Peacock Feather Clothespins Note/Picture Holder

It love the giant clothespins we have in the stores...so I decided to throw on some paint and feathers and make these beautiful note/card/picture holders/ center pieces.  This idea makes for great table markers at a wedding, a fun note/photo display in your home or office.....or you could stick a magnet on the back and use it to show off your A+ paper on the fridge.

Materials:

-Big Clothespin (we have a few big sizes)

-Crafters Acrylic Turquoise paint and foam brush

-Peacock feathers

-Fabri-Tac or hot glue (for feathers)

-Tacky Glue and finer brush (for the glitter)

-glitter

-Flat back adhesive embellishments

Paint the clothes pin.  

Glue on your feathers..you can shape or trim them if you like.

Paint on tacky glue where you want to sprinkle the glitter.

Embellish away!!
