Double-Stick Tape Paper Crafts!

Birthday party but no favors?
Cute gift but no cute gift box?
Gift card but no gift-card sized envelope?
*insert photo of am angry person here*
These are problems that everyone has and can relate to.

The solution?  Craft it!  Look at these great ideas!
To be honest, it's not that hard.  With the right tools and handy dandy Meriken Double stick tape,
you can make some cute and easy favors, envelopes and boxes that are perfect for any occasion!
For example, we used the We-R-Memory Envelope Punch Board to make small envelopes perfect
for gift cards or money envelopes for New Years.  The We-R-Memory Gift Box Punch Board was also really useful for making cubic boxes of different sizes for those too-small-to-wrap presents.  They could also be used to make wedding, birthday, baby shower or graduation favors.

Use double stick tape to make a custom "glitter tape"!
Just stick it on, pour your glitter, and Voila!

Also, don't forget to check out our Accu-cut machines!  Each store carries different dies shapes, templates and letters.  This is one of our favor/treat bags punched out of a textured brown cardstock!
We then embossed a honu onto it using NUVO's embossing powder in Gold Enchantment and added a natural accent using green and ivory raffia!  So simple, yet pretty to look at. :)

Double-stick tape is out Item of the Month for
January, so stock up before they're all gone!
These are going like hotcakes!

For more idea using amazing double-stick tape, visit us at the Pearl City store

See you next week!

Bow-Making Made Easy!

Hi guys! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that Santa brought you everything on your list! For those of us procrastinators who are doing our gift exchange a bit later, here's a great bow making solution that will save you so much time, while keeping your gift wrapping skills impressive.

All I did was use the Bow-Dabara and some wired holiday ribbon about an inch wide!

First thing you'll want to do is cut a thin ribbon that will be what you use to tie your bow together. I used 8 inches of very thin white satin ribbon. Insert this piece in-between the two plastic panels that stand up from the Bow-Dabara board.

For this next part, I'll leave my decorative wired ribbon of choice still attached to the spool as I weave it back and forth. The length you weave on each side will determine how big your bow will be. The bigger the loop, the bigger the bow!

When you begin to weave your ribbon, make sure you twist it once before pushing it down to the board. So the motion will look like: out, in, twist, push down. Repeat this technique back and forth on each side of the Bow-Dabara as if you're making infinity symbols. When you have about four or five loops on each side, you're all done!

At this point pull up the skinny ribbon from the board and tie a knot tightly around the mid section of your bow.

So good! All you need to do is fluff the loops and cut the tail! The Bow-Dabara is great in a pinch. A perfect bow every time!

Gifts in a Jar

Time is running out and it's time to start scrambling for last minute gifts!
Don't know what to get for a co-worker's child?  Maybe for your friend's little sister?
Can't think of little presents to give to all the guests at your Christmas celebration?
I have just the ideas you need for all of your last-minute gifts and favors!

The solution?  GIFTS IN A JAR!
These are simple to make and you can put anything in them!  Not to mention, the container is pretty cute and useful, so that won't go to waste like a flimsy gift box.
I have three examples of what you can do.  For the first jar, which was just a small 4 oz. jelly jar, I punched gift tags out of different colors of cardstock, pre-decorated a few of them and included doodle twine in a variety of colors as well.

I had younger children in mind for the next jar.  I chose a 16 oz. jar to old larger items because I wanted to include pipe cleaners of different colors and large, fluffy pom poms.  Add in some colorful yarn, feathers and googly eyes and you've got a kit to make your own little monsters!  You can even pre-make a critter for inspiration if you'd like.  All they need is adult supervision and a glue gun, or some really strong kid-safe glue like

The next one is for those fairy garden lovers out there!  I pretty much just included a bunch of random wooden pieces such as spools, tiny knobs and candlestick holders and a few natural textures like rocks, small pinecones and moss.  A small plant like this cute soft green succulent would also be a great accent and would add a lot of height to the fairy garden.  Also, some jute cord and a wooden or kraft paper tag would be a great touch for the outside of the jar.  Don't forget your little fairy!  Here, I included a small Christmas fairy.  How cute is she?

There you have it!  The possibilities are endless!  You could have a snowman kit with large white pom poms, clay carrot noses, black beads and brown pipe cleaners!  How about a New Year's celebration kit with supplies to make a paper hat that says 2017?  It could even include a small container of confetti and a noisemaker!  Whatever you make, don't forget to include holiday spirit!

Have fun!

WeR Pillow Box Punch Board - Cute way to show off your special treats or gifts

Learn how to create your very own pillow boxes using our WeR Pillow Box Punch Board.

Basic Supplies:
WeR Pillow Box Punch Board
Paper Trimmer
Card Stock of your choice (12x12)
double sided tape
Round paper punch 1 1/2" or 2" (optional)

Step 1: Trim paper to 6x6 (or your desired measurement) with the paper trimmer. Use WeR Pillow Box Punch Board and follow the manufacturer instructions to punch out your pillow box.

Step 2: If you want a see through window punch a circle (or any shape) on the outside of the pillow box towards the middle (Not the flap side where you'll fold down).  Cut a clear plastic sheet and use the double sided tape on the inside of the box to make the clear window.

Step 3: Fold your pillow box together and put double sided tape on the flap to tape the box together.  Decorate your pillow box by adding rhinestones or ribbon to add that extra special touch.

For those on your Naughty-cal List

We're going to take some time off from talking about Christmas decor today to talk about Christmas gifts. I know, it's not really a big leap, but gift giving IS an important part of the holidays, right? And on that note:

Check out these hand-made, cute, sea-loving totes! These chevron patterned, canvas totes are sold in gray and red, and all I had to do to make them gift-worthy is decorate them with some nautical flair.

One the first bag I painted a sand dollar using turquoise Ceramcoat acrylic paint. You can free hand your design like I did or use a stencil.

On the second bag I simply hot-glued some rope in an anchor shape. I would suggest using Fabri-tac to attach the rope if you're planning on washing the bag.

One little word of warning about these bags: they have a plastic lined interior which makes them great for taking to the beach, but unfortunately also makes them unable to stand up to heat. So that means no iron-on patches or transfer paper for these guys. Just stick to your normal paints and fabric glues to keep them, and your recipients, happy.

Now, who's ready for some nautical gift giving?
