Designer Fans

                   Bud & June Nakama

                                                    Joelle & Kiana Kawahara

There was a lot of creativity going on at our make-n-take Crafting Corner last Saturday!
June had to convince Bud to make one; Bud resisted & said he wasn't an artist but, once he started, his creative side came out!  Joelle & Kiana didn't go for the pink colors & used their favorite colors instead!  If you want to make one of your own, join us this Saturday from 11am-2pm to create your own fan! Alcohol inks & a stamping technique makes it easy to create this floral design. I've added butterflies along with the flowers for you to try this week!  And, we just received die which you can use on our Accucut machine with pictures, designer papers, etc. for your special ocassion (just ask one of associates for help & information)!

Trees & Blossoms!

Beautiful Trees of Life were created on Thursday's Crafting with Gloria! One crafter created a Sakura tree with pink beads and another crafter made smaller ones to be turned into earrings! If you missed this workshop, there's another one scheduled for Saturday, September 22 or come in to see the demonstration on Tuesday, September 18th. The trees are fairly easy to make and no tree is exactly the same so they are personalized and would be great Christmas gifts!

Tomorrow, join me for our Saturday Adventures in Crafting! We will be creating Paper Blossoms using special paper punches to create pretty flowers. These can be used as embellishments for cards, scrapbook pages or even to wear as a pin or in the hair!
Also, on Saturday, there will be a demonstration on straw leis using our specialty yarns. Create your holiday leis or get ready for graduation (it's never to early)! Another demonstration will feature the Sizzix dies using the Big Shot!
There's always something going on at Pearl City's Ben Franklin!

Thursday Crafting & Saturday Adventures

Thursday Crafting with Gloria (that's me!) features this cute Heart Ring! A few twists of wire with round nose pliers and you've created a ring for your pinkie or a special girl!

Two tools that any paper crafter can use will be featured on this week-end's Saturday Crafting Adventures are the Big Shot and the Cinch. Since everyone needs color pens for their projects, we will feature the Le Plume Pens as well! From 10am-12pm, cut a die with the Big Shot, color with some Le Plume Pens and create a cute make-n-take card. In the afternoon, from 2-4pm, we'll be using the Cinch to make a mini-booklet to hold notes or memories! Hope to see you there!

Crankin' Out Crafts Party

It's time for another party hosted by your friendly Enchanted Lake Ben Franklin crafters! (Can you believe it's been a year already?) You may remember our party last year was all about urban style arts.

This was our awesome urban art wall from our 2011 party.
Well this year we're going viral! That's right, we're celebrating our video blog series called Crankin' Out Crafts which was started in this very store. Our Crankin' Out Crafts party is taking place on Saturday, April 28th from 10am to 2pm. We'll have lots of fun doing demonstrations and having hands-on make n' takes featuring some of the awesome projects we've done on Crankin' Out Crafts. Here's a sneak peak at one of the projects:

Pretty marble magnets

Marble rings made on our adjustable ring base

Marble pendant

For this make n' take, you'll have your pick of making a personalized marble magnet, ring, or pendant for a great accessory or gift. These would make beautiful Mother's Day gifts, don't you think?

You can stop in at the store for more information on times and prices for our paper party. We hope to see you there!

P.S. Speaking of Crankin' Out Crafts, if you read our previous post for today you can watch the latest episode of our video blog.

We've been having a lot of rain lately and sometimes it can really put a damper on our plans but we need to remember that the rains make our islands lush and beautiful.  Here's a pair of earrings that can help to remind you of that!  It's a fun pair that has a lot of movement and we've been getting a lot of positive feedback from the sample we have in our bead shop.  Wanna make a pair yourself?  Come by our Bead Shop Blast on Saturday March 17 between 11 and 12 for this $15 make 'n take!  Our Bead Shop Blast will be from 10 to 2 and there will be all kinds of demos and make 'n takes going on!  We'll even have prize drawings so please stop by to check it out!

I'll see you at the store!

"It's for the birds!"

Over here at Market City, we're not leaving it all up to the birds. Although we did have lots of fun since Girls Day making mochi with the microwave and making paper dolls.

Here's another great wood project but not just for the birds. You'll need a few supplies: wooden bird house, ceramcoat paints, grass punch, green cardstock, McGill punch, stylus and of course, birds.

Before we forget ... it's National Craft Month and to celebrate, here at Market City we'd like to personally invite you to our Make 'n Take Celebration on Saturday March 26 from 10am-2pm lots of demonstrations and make 'n takes (of course) a fun filled day, celebrating all the different crafts.

See ya 'all then.
